This portfolio of twelve prints is a thorough examination of the possibilities involved in the photographic medium. The rendering of textures, surfaces, forms, and spaces are paramount throughout the body of work.
While working on four separate bodies of work, a singular thread running throughout the images revealed itself to me. Like the wellspring of events, people, and objects that filter through our subconscious as we sleep, such disparate connections reflect the macrocosm of our lives within the microcosm of specific moments. Hypnos is the Greek deity of sleep, and so the series title is a tribute to his somnolent wisdom.
