Yours Truly is headed out east to (unofficially) celebrate the 30th anniversary of CMJ. On Friday, October 22nd, Glasslands is hosting Yours Truly’s first ever Pillow Talk/Pillow Fight barn burner. It all starts around 6pm and it’s free! We’ll even give you free beer between 7pm and 9:30pm. So shake your feathers down to Brooklyn and let these bands whisper sweet nothings in your ear until you pass out, or fight back.

Here’s an amazing concert I found of Deerhunter playing the Noise Pop Festival in 2009. I forgot just how great this band is. They simultaneously enjoy lulling you into a hypnotic state and waking you up from that with searing guitars and amazingly tight drumming. Plus, the lighting at the beginning of this concert is frickin’ awesome. It’s so dreamy and ethereal and totally goes with their blanket of sound.

Also, if you happen to be in New York in a few weeks Deerhunter is playing a free show with Real Estate at Pier 54. I can’t wait!
