Animal Collective and clothing company Keep are collaborating on line of shoes and Deakin’s design is now available for pre-order (the first image). Their shoes have some nice clean, modern lines. They’re kind of reminding me of Zuriick shoes, which I’ve posted about before.
Hollie Chastain is an artist from Tennessee who makes some psychedelic textural drawings. It reminded me at first of Animal Collective’s cover art for Feels. I’m getting of hint of a kind of larger than ourselves existential confusion or imaginative vibe from these. Meaning that they feel concerned with thoughts and dreams and ideas. I guess it was for these reasons why she was featured in the Soul Pancake book, which you can pre-order here.

Black lights, blue eyes, and belly dancers play large roles in the new video for Animal Collective’s Merriweather Post Pavilion jam “Bluish”. Don’t worry, it’s sufficiently trippy. (via Pitchfork)

It’s a fact that I really enjoy bedroom pop and one man bands. Colin Caulfield or Young Man has a sound I can definitely feel at home with. I think he’s from France but it reminds me so much of the sounds I made with my little dinky four track tape recorder. The ambiance of trains passing in the night, guitars that ripple like they’re swimming in a black lake and single voices that brush together like the wind through your window.
Definitely do yourself a favor and head over to his Soundcloud for a steady stream of a handful of songs for your listening pleasure (they’re free to download as well). Just wonderful sounds to accompany the clicking cicadas and passing cars.
Hear two new tracks from Panda Bear’s (Noah Lennox) new album Tomboy. It sounds pretty good so I’m excited to hear what he’s cooked up for the rest of the album. I like that there’s more guitars on it. I was afraid it’d be all full of synths and looper like this “chillwave” crap that just won’t leave. I mean some of it is good but c’mon already.

A video by Ian Berenger with music by Max Alper (track: “couldhavekilledbee”). Beautiful visuals and a hypnotic soundtrack to lull you to sleep tonight. I kind of wish this could go on for about twenty minutes or even an hour for those times I just want to zone out.
I think I’ll make a post of my favorite zone out music or albums to fall asleep to. Not that that’s a bad thing at all. It’s hard to come by a good lullaby. Goodnight everyone.
