Just worked on some homework with this in the background. Great mellow beats for getting things done.

“Alien Observer” by Grouper
Gorgeous, rich reverb and chilled, almost spoken word, vocals. Grouper’s pieces move slowly and gracefully and are utterly captivating at times.

A fan made video for Young Man’s track “Home Alone”. The abandoned building is a great setting for this song. It also doesn’t hurt that the cinematography is beautiful. I love that little worm in the beginning.
“See Through” by Porcelain Raft
Another automatic reblog from Altered Zone. New dark but beautiful sounding track from Porcelain Raft’s new Collection of Porcelain EP, streaming in full and available for £4 at porcelainraft.com
Whoa. This actually rules.
This may have become a Soundcloud viral but for good reason. Some of the comments include:
“Sigur Ros on helium”
“Genuinely one of the best things I’ve ever heard”
And possiby my favourite,
“I came”
I thought this was going to be ridiculous but it kind of blew me away. I’m not even kidding, just give it a listen.
It’s a fact that I really enjoy bedroom pop and one man bands. Colin Caulfield or Young Man has a sound I can definitely feel at home with. I think he’s from France but it reminds me so much of the sounds I made with my little dinky four track tape recorder. The ambiance of trains passing in the night, guitars that ripple like they’re swimming in a black lake and single voices that brush together like the wind through your window.
Definitely do yourself a favor and head over to his Soundcloud for a steady stream of a handful of songs for your listening pleasure (they’re free to download as well). Just wonderful sounds to accompany the clicking cicadas and passing cars.
Sore Eros - Make it Louder
Atmospheric, nostalgic video by Kayla Kane. Heavy hearted, but textured in a way that tucks you into a dream, trips you over your sleep (as the song says). Look for the Massachusetts band’s release Know Touching on Shdwply Records on August 16th.
I’ve been a fan of Sore Eros for a while and I can’t wait for this to come out! I didn’t even know they were working on some new stuff. Also, I was just listening to some Neil Young and the harmonica in this offered a great transition.
Neon Canyon - Koopa Beach
Neon Canyon is a rogue project. With each release, it seems like they’ve reached the pinnacle of the colorful, fluid mountain that they climb, but the surface is fluid and it’s peak grows with fresh layers appearing from nowhere. “Koopa Beach” recently surfaced on their myspace, where you can also download their EP for free.
mp3 // Neon Canyon - Koopa Beach
Another great dreamy track by Neon Canyon. I also love that it’s called “Koopa Beach”. That was my favorite level in Mario Kart 64. Best game ever!
